Use my experience & expertise to carry out your research

I am Alan Bowgen and I am your ‘Archive Researcher’. I have 15 years professional experience of researching and interpreting documents at The National Archives (TNA) in Kew, London (formerly The Public Record Office or PRO).
The vast majority of this time has been spent dealing with a huge variety of research queries from many different sources: the general public, the media, academics and national and international organizations.
I have extensive knowledge of The National Archives' 10 million records meaning that I know where to look - which can often reduce my client's costs. Of course, knowing where to look is just the start; once the documents have been found, they need expert interpretation. Documents are often heavily abbreviated or include obsolete references.
The ability to interpret documents can often provide crucial information or lead to other documents that help to complete the picture.
