Archive Researcher for national archives

Use my experience & expertise to carry out your research

Welcome to archive-researcher. My name is Alan Bowgen, and I have now retired after working at The National Archives for over 17 years as a records specialist.   I can offer my clients a unique combination of experience and expertise gained from the thousands of diverse research enquiries that I have dealt with during my career.

Research can be a complex and confusing process for those unfamiliar with the system. My extensive knowledge of The National Archives' 11 million records means that I know where to look - which can often reduce my client's costs. Of course, knowing where to look is just the start, as some documents also need expert interpretation and analysis, which I am also able to offer.

This particular ability can often provide crucial information or can lead to other files that help to complete or enhance your research.
